Peanut Butter Cookies with Kisses

INGREDIENTS
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup shortening
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ¼ cup flour
  • ¾ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 (14 oz) bag Hershey chocolate kisses

    • INSTRUCTIONS
  • 1. Mix sugars, shortening, peanut butter, and egg.
  • 2. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • 3. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours.
  • 4. Heat oven to 375 °F.
  • 5. Shape dough into 3/4" balls.
  • 6. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 7. Bake until light set but not hard, 9 to 10 minutes.
  • 8. Cool 2 minutes, remove from cookie sheet.
  • 9. Place unwrapped hershey's kiss in the middle of each cookie and let cool for hours or overnight.
