INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 300°F.
2. Combine the oats, bran, flax and almonds in a large bowl.
3. In a small pot over medium-low heat, combine the honey, oil, sugar, water, VANILLA, PIE SPICE or CINNAMON, and salt, stirring often.
4. When bubbly (about 5 minutes), pour over the oat mix, using a flexible spatula to get every drop. Mix well.
5. Spread on two rimmed baking sheets.
6. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
7. For the final 10 minutes, stir in the dried blueberries/craisins.
8. Let cool before storing in airtight containers.
9. Freezes well. Speaking of which, ground flax should be stored in the freezer, as you usually have to buy a pound. It is totally worth adding because it tastes good, is high in fiber, and is the best non-fish source of omega 3.
