INSTRUCTIONS
[Cookie Dough]
1. Mix all cookie ingredients together until crumbly. Set aside 1 cup of the mixture. Press remaining mixture into a 13 x 11 ½ pan (push up a little way on sides enough to hold filling).
[Date Filling]
2. Combine all filling ingredients in a medium saucepan and cook slowly until thick. Pour on dough. Sprinkle reserved cookie dough on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 min.
[Variation]
3. A large jar of your favorite jam may be substituted for the date filling.
