INSTRUCTIONS
1. Cream together butter and sugar
2. Mix in vanilla extract and egg
3. Stir in remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly
4. Divide dough in thirds and color 1/3 blue, 1/3 red.
5. Wrap and refrigerate 20 minutes.
6. Roll out white dough and cut small stars.
7. Stack with egg wash, forming a star shaped log. Put in freezer for 20 minutes.
8. With the rest of the white dough, roll and cut into square.
9. Roll out blue dough into thick round and cut into 5 triangle strips.
10. Roll out red dough and cut into 2 squares.
11. Attach blue strips to stars with egg wash and roll. Cut off ends.
12. Roll into red square, then roll into white square, then into 2nd red square. *Cut off ends after rolling each new layer*
13. Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
14. Slice cookies onto cookie sheet with parchment paper.
15. Bake 350°F for 8-10 minutes.
