1. Melt butter in saucepan and add heavy cream (half and half may be substituted for heavy cream). Add grated cheese and salt & pepper to taste. Gently mix in saucepan.
2. Pour over fettuccine or other pasta and mix lightly. If desired, top with chopped Prosciutto and/or sliced mushrooms before serving.
